- Oedipus: Category 5
-
Parker Memorial United Methodist Church:
1130 Nashville, new orleans, LA
(MAP)

Oedipus: Category 5 is an adaptation of Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex, placing the story in a post-Katrina political and psychological context. It will be performed as a five year commemoration to the storm and its aftermath. The play is designed to capture the ageless, archetypal quality of sacred Greek drama combined with its temporal relevance to both Katrina and the current oil spill. “Its really an existential story about the human experience of confronting forces that are out of our control,” says author/director, David O’Donaghue, a psychologist and philosopher.
Please join us for this independently produced, multi-media interpretation of the timeless Greek Tragedy, Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, featuring original compositional music by Aeryk Laws and Morella & The Wheels Of If.
